Crazy about sandals?
Crazy about sandals? I do!
This is why I decided to continue our journey into the world of shoes, bags and accessories by talking to you about sandals.
I will do it with a few bits of history and with some suggestions among the many models that you can find in my store.
History pills
The term "sandal" comes from the Greek "sàndalon" name of the tree from whose wood the sole of this type of shoe was originally obtained.
It is therefore one of the oldest shoes. In the classical era, sandals were made up of a wooden sole and linen ribbons that crossed several times on the foot until they reached the calf.
After centuries of difficulty for sandals... showing skin (even of the feet) was considered "shameless", 1926 arrives.
In fact, that year the first article appeared in Vogue in which this sentence was published: "Elegant beach sandals show off wonderfully cared for feet".
Shortly afterwards, in the year 1929, the designer Andrè Perugia presented a collection of sandals with the first evening model that we remember: a sandal with a wooden wedge and straps studded with zircons.
But it is impossible not to mention Salvatore Ferragamo , to whom we must recognize, with the invention of the metal arch, the innovative imprint on sandals
The sandal's ultimate popularity is attributed to Queen Elizabeth II...who wore a pair of Roger Vivier strappy heeled sandals to her 1952 coronation.
We needed a Queen!
My proposals
Today we find an infinite number of models that give us real emotions... from the flat sandal to the jeweled one, from the platform sandal to the minimal one.
It wasn't easy to choose the collections for this Spring Summer 2022 season, so many colors, so many materials but above all so much beauty and so much charm.
You can take a look at the many models that I have personally chosen for you again this year by clicking on this link
